I was watching the BET Awards show the other night and Samuel Jackson spoke about the voting. He said something along the lines “This election isn’t about Obama, but about your mama” haha we laugh, but why did Samuel Jackson feel the need to remind people to vote?
Personally, I think that we as Americans are very fortunate to have the opportunity to vote. Everyday- every- freaking-day in the news, we see different citizens of other countries fighting for their right to vote, for a democratic system. So yeah, it amazes me that we have to “remind” people to go out and vote.
Whoever it is that you decide to vote for- just VOTE-wait I take that back don’t JUST VOTE. Look at candidates views and where they stand on issues that are important to you. Make an educated vote based on the information you seek out and not based on the opinion of what others say. One of the most irritating debates I ever had was when the other individual based their argument on what their peers told him. That doesn’t work with me and I won’t waste energy on that type of arguements. I’m not some political enthusiast, but I know enough to come to the table with a valid argument as to why I would vote for whoever in this or any election. Does that make sense? For those of you who are still wet behind the ears (meaning in your early 20′s and could careless) believe it or not- everything that happens now affects your future. I mean think about it- Every issue possible is being brought up in this election-down to student loans. Stay one step ahead and educate yourself on what’s going on in the political world.
YOU BE THE DIFFERENCE!
